Duration & Accommodations

The PV Discovery Week formally runs each weekday, Monday through Friday. Accommodations are provided Sunday night through Friday night as part of your Discovery Week registration. You will stay at the beautiful, all-inclusive, beachfront Samba Vallarta Hotel ( www.sambavallarta.com.mx ). You may fly in early or extend your stay by some length of time if you want and the hotel will be happy to accommodate you at our negotiated rate at a very good cost to you. We are happy to arrange for any of these extra nights in the Samba Vallarta Hotel for you. Just let us know when you’ll arrive and when you’d like to depart and we’ll take care of your reservations. Payment for the extra nights can be made at the hotel with a credit card (presented at check-in).

Meals & Beverages

During your stay at the Samba Vallarta Hotel, accommodations have been arranged on an ‘All Inclusive’ basis. That means that all meals and beverages consumed in the hotel restaurants and bars (including on the beach and at the ‘swim-up’ pool bar) are included in the price of your registration. There will also be coffee, water and juice available during the morning presentation sessions. Except for one night out investigating the downtown scene, all meals for Sunday night through Friday are planned to be enjoyed in the hotel. When you check in at the Samba Vallarta Hotel, you will be given a wrist band that indicates that you are staying there on an ‘all-inclusive’ basis and consequently, all meals and beverages are complimentary. That includes any days that you may check in before Sunday afternoon or any days that you may choose to stay on after the normal check-out time of Saturday morning.

Guest Speakers

Each day, Monday through Friday, we will meet in the assigned meeting room for the presentations and Q & A with our guest speakers. The speakers will be an attorney discussing immigration, residency and real estate issues; a healthcare specialist, a real estate broker, an accountant talking about taxation issues and on Friday, a couple of Expats fielding general questions about life in Mexico.

Field Trips

Each day after lunch, we will board our shuttle bus and head out on excursions. On Monday, we will head about a half hour up the coast to a lovely little village on the ocean to relax on the beach and have cocktails. Tuesday afternoon, we will split up into smaller groups and go look at real estate properties for rent and for sale. Wednesday, we’ll go downtown to cruise the ‘Malecon’ (boardwalk) to shop, have dinner and cocktails on your own on the beach and watch the sunset. Thursday afternoon, we’ll go look at some more properties for sale and rent. On Friday afternoon, we’ll go visit one of the marinas in town and then enjoy afternoon cocktails at an interesting and lovely sustainable living enclave where there are casitas for sale and for rent. Saturday is a free day and you can do as you wish. Some people may choose to extend their stay beyond the PV Discovery Week and take advantage of being in one of the most beautiful places on earth for another day or two. There are many things to do while in town. You may choose to look at some more properties, lounge on the beach, explore the area or make plans to go out horseback riding, whale watching, deep sea fishing, sailing, snorkeling or scuba diving. We can arrange any of these excursions for you, and in your welcome packet, you will be asked if you want for us to make these arrangements for you.

In any event, you’ll have a great trip filled with practical information about life in Mexico and have loads of fun as well. After this Discovery Week, you’ll be glad that you came down and you’ll go away refreshed, with the confidence and knowledge that you need in order to make an intelligent decision about moving to the Puerto Vallarta area.
